BAPIO is delighted to announce that BAPIO Training Academy (BTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shri Balaji Institute of Neurosciences and Trauma (SBINS&T) based in Karnataka, India. The MoU was signed by Prof. Parag Singhal (CEO, BTA and Hon Secretary, BAPIO) and Dr. Kranthi Kiran S.(Chief Neurosurgeon and Chairman, SBINS&T) in the presence of Prof. Sir. Stephen Powis, NHS England National Medical Director and Anna Shotbolt, Deputy Trade Commissioner Investment for South Asia and the British Deputy High Commissioner for Karnataka & Kerala.
As part of the MOU, which was signed during the UK-India Healthcare Trade Mission 2024, BTA agrees to provide UK standard post-graduate medical education and training in general surgery, emergency medicine, neurosurgery and critical care to Indian clinicians. Furthermore, BTA faculty will work with SBINS&T to upskill Indian nurses and clinicians in primary and secondary care, promote professional clinical excellence and improve capacity and capability of nurses in Northern Karnataka. This collaboration between BTA and SBINS&T will help nurses and clinicians get access to world class health education and training in India. The MoU adds to the growing academic collaborations between British and Indian institutions and will improve patient safety as well as create research opportunities in both countries.
