BAPIO Hosted a Successful ‘Hot Topics in Paediatrics’ session during RCPCH conference

On the first day of the Annual RCPCH conference (25 March 2024), the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO) showcased an academic session on Hot Topics in Paediatrics. The session, which was organised by BAPIO’s Paediatric Forum led by Dr. Renu Jainer, was attended by approximately 100  delegates who had the opportunity to listen to distinguished speakers including Prof. Sir Terence Stephenson, Past President RCPCH & AoMRC and past chair GMC and Dr. Camilla Kingdon, Outgoing President RCPCH, Prof Steve Turner, Incoming President RCPCH.

Topics covered ranged from the history of medical regulation and what the RCPCH is doing for members to postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome and neonatal seizures. Following all the presentations, there were interactive Q&A sessions with the speakers and attendees also had the opportunity to network during the coffee breaks.

BAPIO received excellent feedback from attendees and this will be basis for further developments in the ever-growing BAPIO Paediatric Forum which is a platform for achieving excellence and thriving in diversity by bridging existing gaps.

Following the conclusion of the Hot Topics session, BAPIO hosted a gala dinner at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
