Indian High Commissioner praises BAPIO contribution during COVID crisis

At a reception held at the residence of the High Commissioner of India to felicitate Mr. Cyrus Poonawala, the India High Commissioner H.E. Mrs. Gaitri Kumar mentioned BAPIO as a ‘Hero’ for the work done during COVID Crisis in India. BAPIO had raised over half a million
pounds to provide equipment and food assistance to needy people. BAPIO had also helped stranded Indian travellers to assist them with medical issues.

Dr. Ramesh Mehta, the BAPIO president, who was an invited guest had useful meetings with Mr. Poonawala as well as Catherine Green and Prof Adrain Hill; developers of a vaccine against the CORONA virus. Mr. Poonawala has been nominated for a Nobel prize for his initiatives in providing low-cost vaccines globally.
