NEWS FLASH:
BAPIO IN THE DRIVING SEAT AS THE APPEALS COURT GRANTS PERMISSION AGAINST GMC For JR of CSA
In an earlier decision the High Court had refused permission to British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO) to include the General medical Council, the Regulatory Authority for doctors. However it had granted BAPIO permission for Judicial Review of the GP exit exam called Clinical Skills Assessment (CSA). The judge has noted that prima facie RCGP has not given due regard to Equality law and continuing CSA is unlawful. This was an extremely important ruling, now the case will proceed to a full Judicial Review and BAPIO’s legal team is very confident of proving it’s point in court. This is a great news for those campaigning for equality and fairness led by BAPIO.
