The BAPIO Kings Lynn Educational Event, held on December 9, 2023, was a significant gathering for healthcare professionals, especially those from ethnic and international medical graduates (IMG) backgrounds fostering inclusivity and professional development within the region. The event, in collaboration with Medical Education QEH Kings Lynn, featured a range of lectures addressing both professional and clinical aspects for doctors in primary and secondary care. This well-designed event brought together over 60 delegates including hospital consultants, junior doctors, and GPs, highlighting its success and excellent organization. Mr Siya Sharma, Chair, BAPIO Kings Lynn, opened the event with a welcome address, and Dr Raj Shekhar, Director Medical Education, QEH, introduced the program highlights.
Key esteemed speakers Dr Rebecca Martin (Medical Director, QEH), Prof Parag Singhal (CEO, BAPIO Training Academy), Mr. Rajendra Chaudhary (Medico-Legal Advisor from Doctors & Dentist Protection Union), Miss Sucheta Jindal (Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, ULHT, Lincolnshire), Dr Bharati Seth (Consultant in Pain Management, QEH), and Dr Reni Biran (Lead GP Musculoskeletal Services) delivered insightful lectures. The event’s success was evident in its high attendance and the engaging discussions that followed each session, demonstrating exemplary organization and a commitment to advancing medical practice in diverse communities. They covered diverse topics like menopausal hormone therapy, long-term pain management, professional defence for doctors, international recruitment and support for IMGs doctors, and GMC’s new standards.
