BAPIO Paediatric Forum hosted its ever-popular gala dinner on 26 March 2025 at Firangi Restaurant in Glasgow during the annual conference of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH). The dinner, which was over-subscribed, was attended by over 100 guests from over 10 countries who enjoyed a sumptuous Indian meal accompanied by cultural performances and Bollywood-inspired entertainment.
The evening was skilfully compered by Dr. Srini Bandi. Dr. Renu Jainer,
Chair of BAPIO’s Paediatric Forum welcomed the guests, and her welcome was followed by an
address by Dr. Ramesh Mehta CBE, President of BAPIO. The evening’s entertainment included Ankita Goswami, a medical student from
University of Norwich Medical School, who sang beautifully as well as Dr. Saraswati Hosdurga, who danced with great passion to classic Bollywood numbers. Dr Swapna Gambhir organised an interactive dance with Bollywood flavour, which brought most of the diners to the dance floor after the conclusion of the main meal.
